If you are tech savvy with print settings you can get a printer to split an image between multiple sheets. Printer settings and configurations are different so you will need to do your research about how to achieve that with any image you would like to. With the LEGO faces I may offer a printable in the future with out faces but if you have an image manipulating program you might be able to remove them yourself for your party. As far as the 12 by 12, that size works great for us :)

Printer question: 12″X 12″ Lego man image seems really small for this game to work well.Plus, does not fit on standard sheet of 8.5X 11″ paper used in most printers.
Could the man images be split into parts so that each part (i.e. arms, legs,shirt, pants, head ) could be printed separately, very large on a 8.5X11 sheet to make a larger, poster sized man in the end that is pasted together?

Also, could the heads be printed out without faces already on them so that the kids at a party could draw their own face on man before pinning?

It really depends on what kind of printer you have access to and the paper size. If you have a larger sized paper you can select “fit to page” or pick a percent in the print preview that fits better. These can scale to literally any size without becoming blurry :) Just remember if you scale one file, you will need to remember the settings for the other file so that they match up when your party goers are pinning!
