I bought one years back and can no longer go without it for my party decorations. If you want your Harry Potter cupcake toppers last longer, try using a cardstock paper. Add some glue/ mod podge and glitter to really punch up the colors and design.

What paper is best for my Harry Potter themed bottle labels?

Multipurpose printer paper is the route I’d go. It is easy to print, cut and glue or tape. There also easier to wrap around than a thicker paper.

If you are going to make lots of printable party decorations in the future, you might consider saving money long term and getting a good laser printer. These printers are designed to print lots of color, it’s not wet ink and you can print tons of full color pages before you run out of color in the toner cartridges. Also great for scrapbookers and homeschoolers. While the color cartridges are generally more expensive, your cost per printable is much lower than standard printers ink cartridge. I also use refurbished cartridges which work for me just as good as brand new ones and the price is about 1/4 of new ones. At that cost, they are cheaper than inkjet cartridges.

If making sturdy labels for your Harry Potter themed party is the priority you can try using a cardstock paper.

If you need to protect your labels from getting soggy or wet, coat them with contact paper, and cut them to make them a super durable. If you don’t have contact paper, use clear packing tape. Just tape a piece on each side and then cut off the excess. I would still only use the thinner multipurpose paper for this. You can get contact paper here! I usually keep my water bottles in a cold location but not so cold they form condensation. Then just using normal paper is fine.

Invitations and cards look and feel the most authentic when you print on white cardstock paper. Cardstock will make your invitations feel like they came from a store. If that’s out of the budget then I would go with the multipurpose printer paper. It is easy to use and cut. I have used both regular and cardstock paper and both fit in envelopes nicely.

What can I use to cut my Harry Potter invitations?

Scissors work fine. With lots of free printables to cut, a paper cutter could come in handy though! You’ll have them all cut in a few minutes. With a good paper cutter you can cut multiple at a time. I have also cut them with a ruler and X-acto knife. It gives you perfect edges but takes a very long time when you have a lot of invites. I have a couple different paper cutters for all my free printables :)
